Modeling continuous-time processes via input-to-state filters
A direct algorithm to estimate continuous-time ARMA (CARMA) models is proposed in this paper. In this approach, we first pass the observed data through an input-to-state filter and compute the state covariance matrix. The properties of the state covariance matrix are then exploited to estimate the half-spectrum of the observed data at a set of user-defined points on the right-half plane. Finall...
متن کاملModeling Continuous - Time Stochastic Processes Using Input - to - State Filters 1
A novel direct approach for modeling continuous-time stochastic processes is proposed in this paper. First the observed data is passed through an input-to-state filter and the covariance of the output state is computed. The properties of the state covariance matrix is then exploited to estimate the positive real spectrum of the observed data at a set of prescribed points on the right half plane...
متن کاملOn $L_1$-weak ergodicity of nonhomogeneous continuous-time Markov processes
In the present paper we investigate the $L_1$-weak ergodicity of nonhomogeneous continuous-time Markov processes with general state spaces. We provide a necessary and sufficient condition for such processes to satisfy the $L_1$-weak ergodicity. Moreover, we apply the obtained results to establish $L_1$-weak ergodicity of quadratic stochastic processes.
متن کاملAsynchronous distributed state estimation for continuous-time stochastic processes
The problem of state estimation of a continuous-time stochastic process using an Asynchronous Distributed multi-sensor Estimation (ADE) system is considered. The state of a process of interest is estimated by a group of local estimators constituting the proposed ADE system. Each estimator is based, e.g., on a Kalman filter and performs single sensor filtration and fusion of its local results wi...
متن کاملEstimation of Continuous Time Processes Via the Empirical Characteristic Function
This paper examines a particular class of continuous-time stochastic processes commonly known as af¿ne diffusions (AD) and af¿ne jump-diffusions (AJD) in which the drift, the diffusion and the jump coef¿cients are all af¿ne functions of the state variables. By deriving the joint characteristic function associated with a vector of observed state variables for such models, we are able to examine ...
